GnuPG/PGP
Encryption/Decryption Software

While it's true you may be using a SSL (secure server), the order must still be sent to you via email. To protect against this possible security hole, if you are not using a gateway and credit card informatin is being sent to you, AgoraCart will only send part of the credit card number via email. The other half of the cc number will need to be viewed through the Store Manager "View Orders" screen.
But if you upload a GnuPG privacy key, credit card numbers will be sent in their complete form to you via encrypted email. Through the use of an email program plug-in or a small system tray tool you can easily decrypt the order with all the customers purchase information.

GnuPG is a complete and free replacement for PGP (Pretty Good Privacy). It can be used without any restrictions. GnuPG is a RFC2440 (OpenPGP) compliant application.
It is a strong encryption tool like PGP and can be used commercialy at no cost.

To learn more about GnuPG and to get the necassary software for your operating system visit www.gnupg.org
For Windows users we recommend:
GPA - The Gnu Privacy Assistant
A very easy to use plug-in for Outlook / Outlook Express
http://www.gnupg.org/(en)/download/index.html
Download the binary version compiled for Microsoft Windows.

WinPT Tray
A taskbar utility supporting most GnuPG common commands, signature verification and en- and decryption, key management and file operations. Also offers Outlook Express and Eudora plug-ins as well as integration with Windows Explorer File System.

Once you have generated your key for the email address you've enterd into your Store Manager as the email address to recieve orders, you will need to upload that key to AgoraCart.
In your GnuPG software export your key to a text file (ascii). Open the file or other TEXT editor (not word processor) and copy that and paste it in the appropriate field in your Store Manager on the GnuPG/PGP Page.
If you are hosted by Data~Creek the path to gpg should be:
/home/virtual/site#/fst/usr/bin/gpg
Replace # with your admin number found in your control panel under "View Configuration" find Domain Preview: http://65.101.69.150/~admin_/ where _ will contain your admin number.

Now check your "Program Setting" => "Main AgoraCart Program Settings" at the bottom of the page make sure make sure Scramble CC Info? is set to "Yes"
Now the complete credit card information will be sent to you and it's very simple to decrypt an order. Click, click; and you won't have to go through the Store Manager to process each one.

PGP, on which OpenPGP is based, was originally developed by Philip Zimmermann in the early 1990.
